Learning Path

From zero to first portfolio samples: the path step by step

Learning runs in four phases. Each phase has concrete tasks that lock in what you have learnt before you move on.

Phase 1 · Modules 1–2

Understand the landscape

Study foundations and practise

You study principles of honest persuasion and analyse real marketing copy across formats used by UK businesses.

Complete your first brief

You fill a brief template for a fictional small business and practise defining audience, core benefit and call to action.

Phase 2 · Module 3

Produce your first piece

Headlines with AI as assistant

You generate variants, score them and rewrite them using the module criteria.

Write a landing-page body

You create your first real sample: a landing section for a practice business.

Phase 3 · Module 4

Raise the quality bar

Systematic editing with a checklist

You review your own copy for clarity, word economy, tone and accuracy.

Iterate with structured feedback

You apply specific improvements and document changes — so your editorial judgement grows.

Phase 4 · Module 5

Build your practice portfolio

Define a first possible service

You practise setting project scope: what is included, how many revisions, which deliverables.

Prepare a complete portfolio sample

You finish at least one full piece — landing page, email or product descriptions — as evidence of your skill.

By the end of the path you will have built

Practice briefs

At least two completed briefs for different practice projects.

Edited copy

Several pieces you have written, reviewed and improved with the Module 4 process.

A portfolio sample

One complete piece of work you can show as an example of your ability.

These are learning goals of the programme — not a promise of paid projects or income. Market results depend on effort, skill and demand.
